Meet the Net3 IT Team in Knoxville: Suzanne Scott
Get ready for another blog about our incredible IT team members in Knoxville, Tenn. Today we’re getting to know Suzanne Scott!
Suzanne is Net3 IT’s Principal and Administrative Director in Knoxville. If you ask the employees at Net3 IT what that means, they tell you that Suzanne is the “mom of the company.” If that doesn’t convey her importance and all that she takes care of, let’s dive into what she does daily! Suzanne described the responsibilities of her role as a variety of things from Human Resources to logistics to asset inventory and on to shopping for office supplies. Suzanne mentioned that she values doing her best in everything and helping people to feel valued from the very members on their team to the clients they are serving. We are beginning to see why they call her the mom of the company!
Let’s get to know Suzanne a little bit better!
Q. What’s something about you that might surprise people?
A. Growing up I didn’t eat vegetables. Unlike today, I love veggies and will eat them morning, noon, night and even in my smoothies!
Q. What’s something you know more about than most people?
A. I don’t feel like I know more than anyone else because there is always something to learn. I like to gather information from a variety of sources and soak up all the knowledge that I can.
Q. What is one of your favorite places that you’ve traveled to? Why?
A. Anywhere in East Asia. Growing up in a Chinese/Irish home I have always loved everything about East Asia from the food to the people and the culture. I don’t care for Irish food — sorry, Dad!
Q. What is your favorite movie? Favorite book? Favorite artist/band?
A. The Man from Snowy River is my favorite movie. It is the first movie my husband and I watched together when we were dating. The Bible is my all-time favorite book, but I also enjoy books that are historical and real life. For music, I really enjoy classical, but I like when my family plays music for me the most!
Q. What’s something you’re passionate about?
A. My family.
Q. What’s something you would tell yourself 10 years ago?
A. Don’t sweat the small stuff and always have an eternal perspective.
Q. If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?
A. Snow skiing because my husband really likes it!
Q. What are your personal hobbies?
A. I love to spend time with people and help with anything that I can.
Q. Who inspires you?
A. Mary because of her faith and acceptance of whatever the Lord had for her. Ruth and Naomi, as well. They had such strong unquestioning faith — it is inspiring. I also think of Esther and the sacrifice of herself and her own well-being for others.
Q. If you could have any superpower, which would you choose?
A. The power to love truly and unconditionally.
Q. What are two things on your bucket list?
A. I would love to go up in a hot air balloon again. I have already experienced this once in Nashville at a festival. We had the opportunity to participate in a hot air balloon race. We were involved in putting it up, the race, and putting it all down. It was a truly unique experience. I would also like to have grandchildren!
